Comprehensive Therapy Building – Utah State Developmental Center

The Comprehensive Therapy Building will serve as an unprecedented resource for individuals within the developmental center community by combining multiple scattered resources into one single building. By centralizing these departments, the goal is to provide a “one-stop-shop” for individuals living on campus, thus enhancing their overall well being. The building will be an inviting community landmark, while at the same time enhancing the identity of the Utah State Developmental Center.

The state-of-the-art facility is intended to provide training, and services for adults, and children age 13 and older who will be able to receive multiple types of assistance including: Medical, Dental, Mental Health, Day Programming, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Autism Therapy, all within one building. These departments will require many types of specialized spaces including but not limited to: Group Style Therapy Rooms; a Life Skills Apartment; One on One Therapy Rooms; a Recreational Therapy Room; a Vocational Training Room; a Sensory/Gross Motor Room; a Sound Booth Suite; a Physical Therapy Gym; Medical Exam Rooms; Dental Exam Rooms, a Therapy Pool; Changing Rooms; a Gymnasium; and Day Programming Workshops. These spaces will each require their own type of integrated/specialized equipment and AV considerations.
