Role:

As the president and director of design, Joe’s primary role in the company is to develop conceptual design frameworks aimed to foster the experiential qualities of the inside and outside of each building. Joe is responsible for maintaining that global design vision throughout the project: beginning with early sketches, through design development, construction documents and ultimately throughout the construction phase.

Education:

Joe received both his Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. He also recently served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah.

Background:

Joe Jacoby joined Jacoby Architects in 2005. He has worked professionally in London, San Francisco, and China. A large portion of Joe’s education and professional focus is on the realistic implementation of concept oriented design, as well as green design.

Joe recently served as a visiting assistant professor at the College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah. In addition to being an architect and educator, Joe’s work as a fine artist includes several recent single-artist exhibits and multiple clientèle throughout the country.

Role:

Kraig’s incessant care is utilized to coordinate project information including building systems, detailed design considerations, sustainability, and coordination. His precision, organization skills, communication techniques, and clear headed-ness is used to solve multiple challenges and provide quality assurance for his projects.

Kraig also oversees our internal continuing education curriculum including building tours, monthly lectures, and progressive architectural trends.

As a project architect, Kraig’s duties include day to day management of the design team and consultants. Kraig is responsible for the systemic organization and resolution of project issues, scheduling, detailed design, document production management, and construction administration.

Education:

Kraig received both his bachelors degree and masters degree in architecture from the University of Utah.

Role:

As an interior designer working on the majority of our projects, Tawny is involved with the design and production of interior finishes and materials, color palettes, and the design of furniture, fixtures, and equipment packages. In addition to interiors, Tawny also serves as a project coordinator for architectural tasks during the design, documentation, and construction phases. She also has mastered building physical architectural models, both for study and presentation.

Role:

Eric's primary role in the company is to make sure that projects are delivered with the highest possible quality. He is responsible for detailed design and coordination efforts necessary to ensure the building systems of a project come together seamlessly.

Education:

Eric received his Masters of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and his Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the University of Utah.

Background:

Eric joined Jacoby Architects in 2005. Eric has practiced professionally in Amsterdam, London, and San Francisco.

He has taught design, drawing, and structures courses at University of California, Berkeley.

Eric’s thesis focused on new architectural systems for bringing qualitative space into California’s classrooms.

Role:

Robert has over 55 years of experience in the field of architecture. He is our wise elephant, advising on a variety of challenges related to management, design, and quality control for the company. He recently "kind-of" retired, and frequents the office to continue his work in a field for which he is passionate about.

Education:

Robert received both his Masters of Architecture from the University of Utah and Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Idaho

Background:

Robert served as the president of Jacoby Architects for 41 years. Robert is passionate about every project in the office, and takes pride in crafting all aspects of architecture. The balance of his aesthetic and environmental sensitivity with his technical and construction expertise are what make him a master of designing sophisticated and highly-detailed buildings.
