How We Will
APPROACH YOUR PROJECT:
We will explore numerous options with a variety of media to make sure that you love what you are seeing. We're only exited about the project if you're excited about the project.
•Wide Open Studio
We maintain an open studio environment where the principals and staff are at any given moment aware of the project’s status. We ask questions across desks, not through walls. Our flat hierarchy allows for everyone here to understand the global vision of a project and to be able to make the decisions necessary for keeping that global vision intact.
•Crazy Big Tool Box
People often ask us, who builds your models? Who creates your renderings? Who puts together your presentations? WE DO! We love the process of creation. Our deliverables often include clay models, ink washes, computer renderings, watercolor diagrams, full-scale mockups, collages, and of course detailed technical drawings. Working with our hands, surrounded by pencils, razor blades, building supplies, colors, and state of the art software, our design process remains high energy and uninhibited.
•Design with meaning
We generate ideas and concepts that are meaningful to the project and meaningful to the client as a basis for building layouts, building form, materials, and experiences. The concepts are derived from the people that will occupy the building, the functions for which they use the building, and from the mission statements formulated by the owner. A building with no deep meaning behind its design is just a building, and a waste of an architect.
•More Than One Way to Skin A . . . Building?
We always bring multiple design options to the table. It's the only way to really tell if the client is excited about one or another. We love to engage facility owners, user groups and staff as participants in the design process because the success of the project relies on their feedback and constant involvement.
